Friday Finish: the Make It Do quilt (plus a pattern and fabric giveaway!)

Introducing the Make It Do Quilt

I quilted it in a wavy pattern with a variegated blue/green thread, using this tutorial. My first time with variegated thread, and I'm pretty happy with it.

This one is fat-eighth friendly, or use your scraps to make a beautiful rainbow-y one like my pattern tester Kate:

I don't know about all pattern testers, but I think Kate is the best. She says she specializes in t-shirt quilts, but that really is a cover-up for specializing in awesome anything. Seriously. Go check out her blog and tell me she isn't amazing (or that she doesn't have the funniest cats). And she runs half marathons. While eating Lemon Oreos. You know the kind of friend, who gets invited to your party along with everyone else, but she actually shows up? She shows up to all my Color Monday parties. Even after those half marathon weekends. See? Told you she was some kind of awesome.

The pattern is available in my Craftsy shop as a PDF download for $5 until the 31st. After that, the price is $9.

But who would like a free one?

Leave a comment here and you can enter to win a copy. Leave a comment on Kate's blog to enter to win a copy over there. Two chances to win! (And if you buy the pattern and end up winning it, I'll refund you the purchase price, so you don't lose out if you buy now!)

A separate giveaway is running over on Instagram. Snap a photo of your stash pull (if you're Making It Do), or take a picture of your choice of F8 bundle over at Westwood Acres (my all time favorite shop!). To be eligible, you have to:

  • follow and tag me @porchswingquilts
  • include the hashtag #makitdoquiltgiveaway
The lucky, random winner will receive the F8 bundle of their choice from Westwood Acres.

*If you need some help with Instagram, follow this link to set up your account. I really recommend you do, and start following your favorite bloggers. Things are happening all the time on IG! Giveaways, quiltalongs, crazy cats, swaps - blogging is still my platform of choice for big posts, but for one picture? IG! Get an account and get started! You want feedback immediately on which border fabric to choose? Post it on IG. You want to see a quick 15 second tutorial from Angela Walters? IG baby!

Giveaways run through the 31st, same as the sale.

Linking up! And checking it off the 4QFAL list!
