My fourth pattern, Something New. With quarter square triangles and flying geese. And lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my.
The blocks finish at 16", and the quilt finishes at 68"X86". Again, she's fat eighth friendly, and so fun to make scrappy. Kate went scrappy with hers, and I'm loving the scrappy red, white and blue:
I sketched up a version done in all navy, just to see if those blocks would look like snowflakes, and they did! I think this would make a lovely winter quilt.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pattern! It looks stunning in the navy and white. I like both but it's a bit like magazines and paper copies just seem nicer somehow! Also I'm more likely to use them because I can physically see them in my sewing area!

I like the instant gratification of PDF's but have never downloaded a pattern and immediately started sewing also I feel like I have to have a paper copy too so I print it out and store it in a binder with all the other paper patterns I own! Seems like I should just buy the paper pattern lol.

ReplyDeleteI like both. If the pattern has alot of pictures, i prefer to have it printed. If it isn't too bad, I enjoy instant pdfs.

ReplyDeleteI kind of prefer PDF, because there's no waiting or trip to the quilt shop, but I've lost too many of them over the years to computer crashes.
I usually prefer pdf"s but not for clothing - too many pieces to tape.

ReplyDelete16" blocks are great for me -- I can make a quilt 48" x 64" and be within the size requirements; or even add a narrow border if I choose too!

ReplyDelete"Something New" is an especially pretty design! I love scrappy quilts and that's what mine will be when I make one for myself! I have used PDF patterns only once and didn't have a lot of luck, so I'd prefer the paper patterns which have never given me trouble!

ReplyDeleteI like paper patterns. It's cheaper to buy a new printer than it is to buy toner. When I get a PDF pattern I end up driving to the library to print it (unless I'm in a real hurry to have it RIGHT NOW!)

ReplyDeleteOMG!!! love the blue and white, it does look just like snowflakes all over. I like to have pdf patterns, saved on the computer for when I want to use them. BUT.... I also like to go thru my printed patterns (ok, I admit, I tend to pet them and dream). however, if they're on the computer I can't lose them.

ReplyDeleteLove the navy and white version. I like both for different reasons. Paper look more professional and are lovely to have. PDF get to me immediately and I can store them digitally as well as physically, so if I lose my print out I can do it again.
