So it's a pretty important holiday for us. My law student had to be in school (guess labor day is more important than veterans day), but we'll still planning a good dinner and fun lessons for the day.
My stockings were hung on the list last week and here's the progress:
I'm super happy with them. Now I need to get the pattern enlarged and get them cut out and finished!Have to hand embroider all our names on them too, so I'd better get going. Just have to choose a font . . .
My string quilt was also on my list, and here she is:
Thank you to all who gave me feedback and helped me decided on the sashing and borders. I'm so happy with this quilt! I cannot wait to get this quilted, boxed and shipped. More on the story later. But it's headed to a very special friend in Utah. A friend I've known for over 20 years, who loves Christmas and red as much as I do. She might like red more. I cheat and love yellow a smidge more than red.
I also finished the borders for my Quite Contrary Kaleidoscope. One thing is for certain. Those strawberry blocks are a #@*^%.
And I still cannot figure out what I want to do for my Glamping Trips borders. Can you help a gal out?

Should I do one more scrappy, then the last with the pink circle dot - with a row of white in between? Is it getting to crazy? Should I just do the pink one? Or just one more scrappy one?
Opinions matter! If you lived close, I'd bake you cookies for them! Just not cake. Please, no more cake!
Okay, as for this week. Here's what I want to accomplish:
- Work on my Gypsy Girl Weekender (and maybe even finish it!)
- Make some more Swoon blocks
- Anything else that strikes my fancy

ReplyDeletePerhaps a solid border on the outside of your Glamping OR two solids for the Baltimore design.
'twere it me, I'd leave the glamping quilt alone. (It's perfect, IMO.) However, if it needs to be bigger, I'd go with the less fussy summer border.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of choices there is going to make my head explode, but... I think one more scrappy border, and the second pieced border.
ReplyDeleteI'd put another white border, then the summertime border all in the same fabric, not scrappy again. I think the shape of it better reflects the shapes in the quilt. I love your strings quilt! I want to make one now. Might have to buy a few more reds ;-)
