Make-A-List Monday: The Stockings Were Hung . . .

Yikes - November is more than halfway over! Next week is Thanksgiving! I warn you - these lists will get horrifically long!

Here's what was on the list last week:
  • Work on my Gypsy Girl Weekender (and maybe even finish it!)
Here's a teaser shot - she's almost done. By Friday, I promise.Just some hand-stitching to do to attach that lining. Gonna pull out all the Downton reruns to get me through it all.

  • Make some more Swoon blocks
I was pretty busy with that Gypsy Girl bag, so I didn't get any blocks made, but I did get the rest of the cream fabric cut, so I'm on my way.
  • Anything else that strikes my fancy
I really wanted to start new things, but I was focused!

So, now for this week. In case you were wondering, there are just 42 days left until Christmas. And I need to get these stockings done!

Here's my list for this week:
  • Finish seven awesome red HST stockings, complete with lining and embroidered cuffs (I'm going to use this tutorial for the cuffs - just have to figure out how to do the embroidery right) and loopy hangy things
And that's it. I'm going to stay focused my friends!  If I happen to get those done, then I'm going to cut out and sew an apron for my awesome auntie in Florida. And work on some bags. And finish that Gypsy Girl Weekender. But stockings first.

What about you? What are you working on?

Friday Finish: Gypsy Girl Quilt!

Hold on to your seats. Jennie actually has a FINISHED quilt today. Not a flimsy (well, a flimsy too), but an actual, honest-to-goodness, bone fide, quilted, bound and washed quilt.

I give you the Gypsy Girl Patchwork!

I loved this fabric the moment I saw it, and I knew it was just right for my oldest girl. She loves blue, so I backed it in a gorgeous azure minky. It's a birthday present for her, but I figured I'd better let her have it now.

I used my sister-in-law's long arm and it was just so much fun. And it goes well with the newly painted dresser. Yep. Planned that! Check it off the 4QFAL list!

And now for my flimsy finish.

My mom wanted a Halloween spider web quilt like mine, so she bought the jelly roll and purple fabric and I whipped it together this week. It's now been entrusted to the postal service and should be in her hands soon.

And now, to work on my red string quilt. Only eleventy hundred blocks to go!

Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Have a great weekend.

WIP Wednesday: Can't Help Myself

My Weekender pattern arrived Monday afternoon. It completely derailed any logical plans from that point on.

As I've been waiting for it to arrive (like, for three WHOLE days!), I've been drooling over all the awesome bags out there, like this one, or this one, or this one. I've got serious Weekender bag envy. I MUST have a patchwork one.

So I bought some duck cloth at JoAnn's Monday on the way to swimming lessons (multi-tasker, that's me!). And I cut it out Monday night. And I might have forgotten to baste that Halloween zig zag quilt as I got lost in the piecing of my bag.

Um, hi, is this not awesome? I know, humble much Jennie? (If you don't like it, don't tell me. It's like telling a mother she has an ugly baby. Not cool. Or true. Every mother has a beautiful baby.)

I don't have the material yet for the lining. Or the piping. But I just had to piece these panels. It had to be done. Didn't it? Tell me it had to be done, please.

Okay, and I completely cut out my "plain" ones (as plain as bright pink dandelions and London umbrellas can get!).

Off to quilt that zig zag quilt. Ya know, before Halloween is over!

Linking up!
