Friday Finish: Sew Cherry Grannies

One more week to enter the fabric giveaway from Westwood Acres. Go to this post to find out how, and enter to win a copy of my new pattern!

And welcome all from the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

Oh how I love this quilt! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but I love this one best. Right now. In this moment.

I started this Sew Cherry granny squares quilt back during the granny square craze. Yeah, it's been a while. But life happens! As I was quilting it, I kept thinking, "Oh, that's my favorite block." "Nope, that one is." "I forgot about that pink and yellow one!" Suffice it to say, I'm a fan of them all.

I wanted to do the pieced border, and my "just-had-a-baby" addled brain was struggling with the math. But I got it figured out (not as complicated as I thought it would be!), and then I just had to bind it with the red gingham print.

We're good now, my brain and I, but back then, it was rough. Sleep helps a lot, I've found!

Checking it off the 4QFAL list.

  18. I love granny squares, and this one is delightful right to the edge with the gingham binding. Every time I see a granny square afghan, I decide I have to make the pattern with fabric, but I never have. Thanks for making and sharing this so I can enjoy looking at it.
